This is what the entry, reproduced in its entirety in Appendix D, said about a man called Abe: “On the membership rolls, which contained the first names only for all members, appeared ‘Abe, occupation physicist, union — CIO, color — white, sex — male, card #77223, date of registering — January, 1945.’” The entry goes on to say that this person worked at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
